Reading series installments back-to-back can often lead to dissatisfaction with voice, style, and even thematic changes, as the author has changed in the time it took between writing different volumes. But Piemur is very far from having just this one ability and Master Robinton knows how precious Piemur is. Dragonsinger follows on immediately from Dragonsong, which tells of the early history of Menolly, whose musical nature is despised as impractical by her family.

Those are some of my favorites too. This is an amazing series and I’m so glad I discovered them again on Audible! But the second and third books are only ok. There is some fun with the politics of Pern in the backgr I remember distinctly not liking this book as much as the other two of this series when I read it back as a child oh, yes I was doing a reread bit for a couple daysbut it turns out that it’s actually a fun book!
As she comes to the Harper Hall, she is not accepted well by the other girls. But it is a lovely read that I enjoyed when I was young and ha A delightful continuation of Dragonsonghere we find Menolly established at the Harper Hall in Fort Hold. It is the characters that make this book so endearing and so difficult to dislike.

I understand why this book disappoints a lot of readers. Despite the change in focus from Menially to Piemur I still really enjoyed this book.
