I’m quite biased against this group of people because they are adventurers and not archeologists. He makes several good observations about the intersection of religion and nationalism, two of the most powerful tools for understanding one’s place in the world, but doesn’t really discuss the difficulties of trying to describe any situation where the two may be present simultaneously.
